Orton Geological Museum Celebrates America 250

The Orton Geological Museum, in collaboration with the Ohio Statehouse Museum and the ODNR Division of Geological Survey, is celebrating America 250 with a Fossil Fest at the Ohio Statehouse. The event, which is scheduled for Thursday, June 25, 2026, 10:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m., is free and open to the public. 

The Fossil Fest will feature activities in the Atrium of the Ohio Statehouse from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The Orton Museum will be there with amazing fossils found locally in central Ohio, and fun and interesting activities for persons of all ages. This will be followed by a guided tour to the fossils in the building stones of the Statehouse.
