In celebration of Earth Science Week 2024, October 13-19, the Orton Geological Museum presents a new Digital Exhibit, Stones with Stories 2024. 

National Fossil Day will be Wednesday, October 16. That day we will feature a special fossil.

Also on National Fossil Day, Dale Gnidovec will join Mark Peter (Ohio Division of Geological Survey) in leading field trips to view fossils of the Ohio Statehouse. The tours, which take place at the Statehouse, at the corner of Broad and High Streets in Columbus, will begin at noon. The event is free, and the public is invited.

At the end of Earth Science Week 2024, each specimen will be displayed in the Orton Museum tent at WestFest (Saturday, October 19). Come experience these wonderful pieces close-up!
